Choosing the Right Size
When shopping for vintage clothing online, you have to be aware that vintage sizes often run smaller than modern sizes. For example, a vintage t-shirt with an XL tag may actually fit more like a modern size medium. Since this is the case, I measure each article of clothing and include those measurements in each item's description and usually state what modern size it will probably fit like. However, the best way to ensure an item will fit you well is to measure a similar item of your own and then compare those measurements to the item you are considering purchasing. I measure pit to pit for the chest, top of shoulder at collar down to the bottom edge of the clothing item for the length, and pit to sleeve end for sleeve length. See example image below.
